WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK FOR CHILDREN
It all began with a simple request from a concerned mother 11 years ago. She saw my adult material on Scribd. Her son had a question and it was, "Why me God? Why did this happen to me?" This mother did not know the answer and neither did I. She asked me if I had written any faith-based, kid-friendly material to help young sexual abuse survivors. My answer was no, but I would try.
The request floored me as a humble writer and it made me cry. I knew in my spirit that this request was a knock on my heart to see if I would write a book for a child who was seeking spiritual help. Why Me? is my sincere answer to help young survivors know that God's love is real. His compassion and His Word holds the key to gain spiritual restoration from sexual abuse. The journey is not easy, but this book lays down a great foundation for spiritual recovery for children.

I wanted to just write to you to thank you for your books. I am working my way through them on Kindle so that made it accessible for me here in the UK. You may wonder why I am
reading them all.... Well I have Dissociative Identity Disorder from my childhood sexual and ritual abuse, so I
have many parts aged from 3 years old through to teenagers and young adults. I came across the one for preschoolers by searching on amazon for how can I get to know Jesus and the book Can Jesus Help Me? came up. The
message was perfectly aimed at my youngest parts, many who have already come to know Jesus, but it helped those with questions. So I continued onto Why Me? and am now working through Why Me? Why Now? with my teenage parts. It may be a little unconventional to use your books for an individual with DID, but I am a Christian and I want all of me to know
Jesus as their Savior and receive His healing, so that one day I can be whole again. Thank you for the hard
work and time it must have taken to complete these books. They are so full of truth, yet delivered with the compassion and understanding that can only come from someone who knows. those young and old how to journal. The book is designed to help heal the spirit
from the guilt, shame, and hurt of sexual abuse. Medina uses Scripture to show that by forgiving the abuser you don’t need to forget their transgression.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A professional writer and ordained minister specializing in faith-based counseling and case management, Medina began her career in journalism as a high school writer. Her passion for writing and helping people through the written word became a profession that has spanned over 35 years. Since 1997 she serves as a part-time ministerial counselor who is committed to helping people gain recovery from trauma.
Since 2000 Medina has served as a part-time ministerial counselor, Bible study instructor, and preacher who is committed to helping people gain recovery from sexual abuse trauma. Her faith in God has allowed her to author a dynamic book series to help people of all ages overcome sexual abuse in a faith-based Christ-centered manner.
Many young children, teenagers, and adults often wonder why sexual abuse happens and have faith-based questions which need to be addressed as they try to deal with the issue of sexual abuse. Many times, churches, Christian counselors, and ministers lack simplistic faith-based resources to explain the spiritual aspect of sexual abuse in a kid-friendly and compassionate manner.

The series contains books, writing journals, ministerial training guides, and online courses. The ministerial training guides provide over 52 weekly sessions taken directly from the book material. These guides allow the minister or counselor to have everything prepared in advance which makes counseling more effective.

There is life beyond sexual abuse and my premise is that God has given us all gifts, talents, skills, abilities, intelligence, education, and experiences to use in a positive manner. Just because one has been sexually abused, does not mean life is over. One can be thrown off track, but with God’s love and healing, anything is possible. The topic of sexual abuse is still a taboo subject and now is it time to equip the Body of Christ with these affordable resources,” said Medina.
